Objectives of this e-learning course include that learners will be able to:

  • Identify common causes of roommate conflict as identified in a case study analysis with 80% accuracy

  • Apply appropriate conflict resolution strategies in a scenario-based learning activity.

  • Distinguish active listening skills from poor listening skills as demonstrated on a case-study analysis with 80% accuracy

  • Analyze responses to conflict in a case-study analysis as demonstrated in a case-study analysis with 80% accuracy.

Communication, Compromise, and Negotiation

This Storyline 360 project is part of a second module in a Rise Course, Roommate Survival 101: Navigating Conflicts with Ease. The target audience is University of Alabama students living in on-campus housing. I used the University of Alabama branding, approved colors, and images for this instructional course. Complex triggers and variables allow the learner to navigate at their own pace. Multimedia elements including videos and narration were designed for accessibility.

Conflict Resolution Techniques

A laptop sits on a white desk displaying the opening slide of a Storyline 360 e-learning module titled Conflict Resolution Techniques: Communication, Compromise & Negotiation. The slide includes a red University of Alabama “A” logo, clean red-and-white branding, and three photographic images of students in dormitory settings resolving conflict. A text field prompts users to “type your name here,” and a maroon button labeled “CONTINUE” appears below.

Dormageddon - Can you Keep the Peace?

Dormageddon is an interactive eLearning lesson designed to help undergraduate students navigate common roommate conflicts. Set within the Roommate Survival 101: Navigating Conflicts with Ease course, this scenario-based game immerses learners in realistic situations where they must apply effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution strategies. Through engaging animations, branching scenarios, and gamified elements, students practice resolving disputes in a risk-free environment, enhancing their interpersonal skills for on-campus living.

Learning Objective:

Apply appropriate conflict resolution strategies in a scenario-based learning activity with 80% accuracy.

Course Goals:

  • Identify common causes of roommate conflicts

  • Apply appropriate conflict resolution strategies in various scenarios

  • Demonstrate active listening and effective communication skills.

  • Recognize when to seek external assistance in conflict situations.

Objectives

  • Apply action strategies to address types of conflicts

  • Recognize warning signs that indicate when outside help is needed

  • Navigate the appropriate steps for seeking assistance with serious conflicts

Practical Solutions & When to Seek Help

A fully customized, simulation-based STEM lesson built in Storyline 360 with advanced logic and 300+ custom media assets, created for the Alabama Transportation Institute.

Students build and test a virtual lemon battery, measure voltage with a simulated multimeter, and connect their findings to EV battery modules, all through the Engineering Design Process.

What I Did

  • Designed and developed a 100% custom drag-and-drop simulation (no templates)

  • Built complex variable and trigger systems (160+ variables, 80+ triggers on some slides)

  • Developed multimodal learning (audio/text toggle, hints, help videos)

  • Produced 300+ custom assets: audio, video, images, UI components

  • Integrated accessibility (closed captions, printable personalized PDF)

  • Designed for both LMS delivery and standalone web use

Skills Demonstrated

  • Simulation development

  • Advanced Storyline logic

  • Custom drag-and-drop interactions

  • Multimedia production

  • UX/UI design

Part two of the project requires students to construct a full lemon battery module relating back to engineering design principles and electric vehicle batteries.

Michael's Adventures in Voices and Choices

This scenario-based eLearning experience is a conceptual project developed using the ADDIE Model to equip corporate leaders with a foundational understanding of Corporate Diversity and Inclusion. Through interactive scenarios, learners engage in a risk-free environment where they can explore key concepts, make decisions, and develop a deeper awareness of inclusive workplace practices.

Target Audience: Corporate team leaders at multiple sites across the United States.

Responsibilities: Instructional Design (design plan, storyboarding, visual mockup, prototype, full build), visual design, e-learning development, full build in Storyline 360, character animation, AI Voice training, recording my speech for Michael’s dialogue converted using Michael Scott’s GenAI Voice.

Tools Used: Articulate Storyline 360, Vyond, Adobe Photoshop, Jammable – AI voice training and generation, Media.io to remove background noise, Soundbible, Canva, Clip Champ, Audacity, PowerPoint, Word.

Corporate Diversity & Inclusivity

A laptop on a wooden table displays the opening slide of a Storyline 360 e-learning project titled Michael’s Adventure in Voices and Choices. The screen shows an illustrated character of a smiling man in business attire, with the phrase “PEOPLE ARE #1!” written in bold text beneath a large arrow pointing to it. The setting in the background appears to be a classroom or modern cafe with chairs and tables slightly out of focus.

This self-paced asynchronous e-learning lesson is part of a course is designed to equip medical professionals with essential Spanish language skills for effective communication during their bi-annual volunteer trips to Nicaragua.

The lesson focuses on listening and spoken language skills created using Articulate 360. It includes multi-modal presentation and learning methods for pronunciation guidance and practice, listening comprehension, speaking exercises, interactive activities, and a checkpoint.

Objectives:

• Upon completion of the modules, the medical professionals will be able to recognize 80% of course content spoken by native-Spanish-speakers.

• Upon completion of the modules, the medical professionals will be able to verbally express 80% of the modules’ content in the Spanish language.

Metrics:

Using pre- and post-module surveys:

  • Medical professionals will report a 15% increase in self-confidence to transcend language barriers.

  • Medical professionals reporting anxiety related to language barriers will decrease by 15%.
